As lame as it is, we didn't want to cook Christmas dinner, especially with just the two of us, so we headed out in search of a restaurant open on Christmas Day.
Remembering 'A Christmas Story', Chris says, "You know what's always open on Christmas? Chinese restaurants." So we head to The Old Siam which is a local Thai restaurant. Yes, we know it's not Chinese, we probably would have been better off saying "Asian". Anywho, we arrive and are sitting waiting to be sat. From the moment we arrived I had been casually staring at this gentleman about twenty feet across from us and kept thinking, He really looks familiar to me. I just couldn't put my finger on it. This guy wasn't your average looking guy, he had a very distinct look about himself. His hair was jet black, poofy and not a single hair was out of place. He had a very well groomed jet black mustache to match his perfect hair. Trying to not stare, I scan the restaurant with a bored look on my face with the intention of staring but not so obvious. It started to come to me, who he looked like. At first I thought it could have been Elvis, but not so much and then it came to me. Chris was leaning over playing with the baby and I lean over to him and say, "Mi scusi, mi scusi." He looks at me with a strange look on his face and I do that shifty eyed thing people do when they want someone to look at something without making it obvious. My eyes point, so to speak, towards the guy twenty feet
across from us. Chris obviously still
looked confused and then I asked, "Remember Eurotrip? Mi scusi, mi scusi." Oh, he got it after that and started laughing agreeably. I so wanted to get a picture of this guy. Obviously it's nearly impossible to buy a cell phone these days without it having a camera, so I whipped out my BlackBerry and snapped one. After taking it, his head quickly snapped to my direction and he looked at me. That's when I remembered that my phone had a flash and made a "shutter" sound when I took the picture. /gasp
Here's the picture I took on my BlackBerry and above is the guy from Eurotrip. The one from my phone is far away and you can't really see him that well but it's better than nothing. If you are curious as to what he looks like, he looks identical to the Eurotrip guy, I shit you not. Enjoy.
For more Thai restaurant fun, the menu had an interesting dish. Look for yourselves.
If you can't read it for some reason, it says, "Noodle of the Drunk." So this is where all the drunks go after the bars. And I thought it was Waffle House all this time! So that's my useless blog of stupidity. Don't you love it?
